My approach to psychotherapy is very informal, warm, and collaborative. I take from a lot of theories of psychology, but most often I try to guide patients in examining their thinking in order to change emotions and behavior.

This is known as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

I love CBT for two reasons:

1. It works!

and

2. It works right away!

You will leave your first session with "A Plan" that will make you feel in control of your life rather than a victim of circumstances.

More about my approach to therapy:

CBT was pioneered by Dr. Aaron T. Beck  (1921-2021), who, together with his daughter, Dr. Judith Beck, co-founded the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in 1994. Dr. Eidex credits her expertise in CBT to her studies of the Becks’ works as well as those of Dr. Donald Meichenbaum, Dr. Russell Barkley, Dr. Robert Brooks, and Dr. David Burns.

Areas I treat:

ALSO… for personal reasons, Caregiver Care is a concept near to my heart. As such, this is an area of psychotherapy that is very important to me. If you are caring for a disabled family member, it is crucial that you carve out time and support for yourself. One cannot pour from an empty vessel. Furthermore, talking it through with someone who knows first-hand can be extremely validating.
